This museum, built in brick Brach, was created in 1975 by a few residents who are so anxious to preserve the local heritage. From the arid moorland to modern silviculture and the seaside resorts of today, it is the fascinating story of the Médoc man, evoked through memories of his laborious past and resolutely turned towards the future, which is presented there.

There is an exhibition devoted to the themes of life over the centuries: you will discover the Médoc, its geography, its fauna, its flora, the urban and rural activities, the life of yesteryear or the activities related to the forest .

The rooms are organized according to different themes, such as the formation and evolution of the geography of the Médoc, the fauna and flora of the moor and lake areas, the territory and the urban poles of the town of Carcans, life domestic and laborious rural of formerly,

activities related to the forest.  You will propably know more about Médoc ...!

The museum opens its doors to restricted periods in summer, namely Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 15:00 to 18:30 from 15 June to 1 July and from 29 August to 10 September, and from Monday to Friday from 15:00 to 19:00 from 1 July to August 28th. Outside these periods, visits are exclusively by reservation.
